SweetLabs is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our San Diego Android team!At SweetLabs, we build apps that make devices easier to use and more personalized for users, enable device manufacturers to monetize and differentiate their devices, and help advertisers reach millions of people.

What you’ll do:

We pioneer the way Android technologies are developed at the platform level. This newly created position focuses on delivering innovative, consumer-facing mobile products.This role requires advanced Java skills to tackle difficult/complex requirements with equal proficiency from APIs to custom UI. Of equal importance are flexibility and patience to write detailed code; and then to iteratively change and test the code.SweetLabs is a product-centric company with the overarching goal of creating structured, long-term code for re-use and componentization. This means regular communication with multiple teams including Product and Engineering in order to meet development commitments.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in refining requirements into actionable engineering plans that deliver the envisioned results.
  • Skills in architecting and developing highly reliable code at a quality level that meets the criteria of top Android OEMs. This includes designing robust application architecture that provides flexibility and code re-use.
  • Understanding of the issues surrounding multiple device compatibility, various Android API levels, the Android permissions systems and the complexities of threading.
  • Innate curiosity with an insatiable need to learn and solve interesting problems coupled with the judgment to make pragmatic design decisions.
  • Willingness to share and explore with the team to keep the ideas and information flowing.
  • Comfort with self-sufficiency, ambiguity and changing priorities while still writing quality code.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an eye for visuals.
  • Sincere desire to work in a fun and highly motivated environment.

Bonus points for:

  • Eagerness to be coached and mentor others with the willingness to work hard to grow your career.
  • CS degree or similar.
  • Android launcher development experience.
  • Experience developing and shipping apps from start to finish.
